Pharmacodynamics: Enrofloxacin Fluoroquinolone is a broad-spectrum fungicide of the fluoroquinolone class specifically for animals. It has a good effect on Escherichia Coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Brucella, Pasteurella, Actinobacillus Pleuropneumoniae, Erysipelas, Proteus, Serratia Myxae, Corynebacterium Pyogenes, Bordetella Septicola, Staphylococcus Aureus, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, etc. However, its effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus is relatively weak, and its effect on anaerobic bacteria is weak. It has a significant post-antibacterial effect on sensitive bacteria. The antibacterial mechanism of this product is to inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase, interfere with the replication, transcription, repair and recombination of bacterial DNA, and prevent bacteria from growing and reproducing normally, leading to the death. 
Pharmacokinetics: This product is rapidly and completely absorbed by intramuscular injection. The bioavailability in pigs is 91.9% and in dairy cows is 82%. It is widely distributed in animals and can enter tissues and body fluids well. Except for cerebrospinal fluid, the drug concentration in almost all tissues is higher than that in plasma. The liver metabolism mainly involves the removal of the ethyl group of the 7-piperazine ring to form ciprofloxacin, followed by oxidation and glucuronic acid binding. It is mainly excreted through the kidneys (secreted by the renal tubules and filtered by the glomerulus), with 15% to 50% being excreted in the urine in its original form. The elimination for effect from period of half-life that varies significantly among different species of animals and different administration routes. The elimination for effect of half-life period after intramuscular injection is 5.9 hours in cows, 1.5 to 4.5 hours in sheep, and 4.6 hours in pigs.

Usage and Dosage
Intramuscular Injection: The single dose is 0.025ml per 1kg of body weight for cattle, sheep and pigs; For dogs,rabbits and cats, it takes 0.025 to 0.05ml; Take it 1 to 2 times a day for 2 to 3 consecutive days. Period of Discontinuing against Drug: The cattle and sheep have 14 days, the pig has 10 days, and the rabbit has 14 days.

 

Adverse reactions
(1) It causes degeneration of cartilage in young animals, affects bone develop-ment and leads to lameness and pain.
(2) Reactions of the digestive system include vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, etc.
(3) Skin reactions include erythema, itching, urticaria and photosensitivity reactions, etc
(4) Allergic reactions, ataxia and epileptic seizures are occasionally observed in dogs and cats.

 

Precautions
(1) It has a potential stimulating effect on the central nervous system and can induce epileptic seizures. Dogs with epilepsy should use it with cautions.
(2) Use with caution in carnivores and animals with poor kidney function. Crystalluria may occur occasionally.
(3) This product is not suitable for dogs under 8 weeks.
(4) The number of drug-resistant strains of this product is on the rise, and it should not be used for a long time at sub-therapeutic doses.

 

Drug's Interactions 
(1) This product has a synergistic effect when used in combination with aminogly-cosides or broad-spectrum penicillins.
(2) Heavy-metal ions such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe3+, and AL3+can chelate with this product, affecting absorption.
(3) When used in combination with theophylline and caffeine, it can reduce the plasma protein binding rate, abnormally increasing the concentration of theophy-lline and caffeine in the blood, and even causing symptoms of theophylline poisoning.
(4) This product has the effect of inhibiting liver drug enzymes, which can reduce the clearance rate of drugs mainly metabolized in the liver and increase the blood drug concentration.
