Pharmacodynamics:Flunixin Meglumine Injection is a potent cyclooxygenase inhibitor, which has analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic effects. The analgesic effect is caused by inhibiting the synthesis of peripheral prostaglandins or the pain-sensitizing substances or the combined effects, thereby blocking the conduction of pain impulses. The anti-inflammatory effect of peripheral tissues may be caused by inhibiting cyclooxygenase to reduce the formation of prostaglandin precursor substances and by inhibiting local inflammatory responses caused by other mediators.
Pharmacokinetics: After a single intramuscular injection in pigs (2.2mg/kg body weight), the plasma's elimination for half-life period is 3-4 hours. The peak concentration is 2.94ug/mL, the peak time is 0.4 hours, and the drug could still is detected in the blood 18 hours after administration. The distributing volume is 2.0L/kg, and the bioavailability of a single cervical injection is 87%.

Usage and Dosage
Intramuscular Injection: For a single dose, 0.4ml per 10kg of body weight for cows and pigs; 0.2-0.4ml for dogs and cats Take it 1 to 2 times a day for no more than 5 consecutive days. Period of Discontinuing against Drug: 28 days for cattles and pigs.

 

Adverse reactions
Intramuscular injection has a stimulating effect on the local area. Long-term and high-dose use of this product may lead to gastric ulcers and renal function damage in animals.

 

Precautions
Use with caution in animals with peptic ulcers.

 

Drug's Interactions
 (1) Flunixin Meglumine Injection should not be used simultaneously with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as it may aggravate the toxic and side effects on the gastrointestinal tract, such as absce-sses and bleeding.
(2) Due to its high plasma protein binding rate, when used in combin-ation with other drugs, flunixin meglumine may replace other drugs that bind to plasma proteins or be replaced by other drugs itself, resulting in enhanced effects of the replaced drugs and even toxicity.
(3)In combination with antibiotics, it is used as an adjuvant treatment for lactating syndrome in sows
