Pharmacodynamics: Enrofloxacin is a broad-spectrum fungicide of the fluoroquinolone class specifically for animals. It has a good effect on Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Brucella, Pasteurella, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Erysipelas, Proteus, Serratia myxae, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Bordetella septicola, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycoplasma, chlamydia, etc. Its effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus is relatively weak, and its effect on anaerobic bacteria is weak. It has a significant post-antibacterial effect on sensitive bacteria. The antibacterial mechanism of this product is to inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase, interfere with the replication, trans-cription and repair recombination of bacterial DNA, and prevent bacteria from growing and reproducing normally, leading to their death.
Pharmacokinetics: This product can be well absorbed by most animals when administered orally. The bioavailability of oral administration in chickens is 62.2%-84%, and it is widely distributed in the poultry body. It can well enter tissues and body fluids (including bones). Except for cerebrospinal fluid, the drug concentration in almost all tissues is higher than that in plasma. The main process of liver metabolism is the removal of the ethyl group of 7-pipexacin to form ciprofloxacin, followed by oxidation and glucuronic acid binding. It is mainly excreted through the kidneys (secreted by the renal tubules and filtered by the glomerulus), with 15% to 50% being excreted in the urine in its original form. The elimination half-life of this product taken orally in chickens is 9.1-14.2 hours.

Usage and Dosage
Mixed Drinking: 0.5-0.75ml per 1L of water for poultry. Period of Discontinuing against Drug: Poultry: it is 8 days.

 

Adverse reactions
(1) It causes degeneration of cartilage in young animals, affects bone develop-ment and leads to lameness and pain.
(2) Reactions of the digestive system include vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, etc.

 

Precautions
(1) Poultry that lay eggs for human-consumption shall not be used during the laying period;
(2) Black-bone chicken is prohibited.

 

Drug's Interactions 
(1) This product has a synergistic effect when used in combination with aminogly-cosides or broad-spectrum penicillins.
(2) Heavy-metal ions such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe3+, and AL3+can chelate with this product, affecting absorption.
(3) When used in combination with theophylline and caffeine, it can reduce the plasma protein binding rate, abnormally increasing the concentration of theophy-lline and caffeine in the blood, and even causing symptoms of theophylline poisoning.
(4) This product has the effect of inhibiting liver drug enzymes, which can reduce the clearance rate of drugs mainly metabolized in the liver and increase the blood drug concentration.
